Shelli is a nationally certified and licensed mental health counselor who completed her Master's Degree in Counseling from Antioch University Seattle.  Since 1993 Shelli has provided supportive and empowering counseling to older adolescents and adults.  Shelli has worked in management and direct services within a variety of clinical settings, including an acute psychiatric hospital, private practice, community mental health agencies, and non-profit crisis response organizations.   Additionally, Shelli taught Masters level psychology students at the university level.


Shelli's clinical philosophy is that each person has the potential to achieve his/her goals and desired life once motivation is present.  Through supportive individual and group psychotherapy, Shelli works with clients to assist them in identifying their goals and helping them to develop and implement strategies for achieving these goals.  Some of Shelli's areas of expertise include over a decade of dedicated work with survivors of domestic abuse.  Shelli is also a Level II trained EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapist working with clients desiring to resolve issues related to trauma and abuse.  


Shelli sees clients for a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety and other mood related issues.  Counseling is available to help clients through transitions including life stressors such as grief from loss, midlife, coping with illness, career and lifestyle.  Within a perspective of holistic mind/body approach, eclectic therapies such as Rogerian, cognitive behavioral, existential and reality therapy may be used. EMDR may be considered to address particular unresolved anxieties and traumas.
